Jubilation... |
The word "neighborhood" evokes strong feelings for many people, conjuring up a sense of belonging and a feeling of ownership. For most residential developments, a plan starts with design of house lots. In Jubilation, it started with design of neighborhoods that are the soul of Jubilation. Each neighborhood offers an assortment of housing styles and prices. The goal is to attract a diverse group of neighbors, thus lending vibrancy to the community by providing an opportunity to be together in a special way. This variety makes it possible for people to live a lifetime in the same community, rather than having to move because of income or space limitations. Each Jubilation neighborhood is organized around the Harvest Activity Center and Plaza. The large and inviting area provides many opportunities for partnership between residents. Near the Activity Center on Reflections Avenue are the garden home condominiums; on Serenity Drive patio single-family detached homes; and, on Friendship Drive custom villa homes designed with front porches and adjoining sidewalks. All homes are a five minute walk or less from the Activity Center. Connections to the park and conservation areas are never more than a block away. What defines Jubilation visually is its housing architecture and streetscapes. There is a picture that many people carry in their hearts of what a neighborhood should look like. It should have a narrow roadway with slow-moving streets. The streets and sidewalks interconnect, inviting all residents to stroll or bike to any neighborhood and park area. The architecture of the homes is one of the most compelling elements of the community. A sense of history is built into every home, a design drawn from the past. Houses face "living courts" that give the feeling of an interior street, and garages are located at the back. Serving as a symbol of welcome and the natural gathering place for families and neighbors is that great American classic ... the front porch. |
