Sustaining the Community

The open space conservation areas represent a number of linking elements such as the park and playground areas, a Florida scrub jay preserve, a small lake, a blueberry u-pick area, and resident gardens. An 11.5 acre portion of the green areas in Jubilation is the northern half that has been set aside as a protected species preserve, providing a habitat for the Florida scrub jay and the gopher tortoise.

The conservation areas are not isolated to one corner of the community. Instead, they are closely woven into each neighborhood, as much a part of the neighborhood as the houses, sidewalks and Plaza. This design approach is meant to bring open space and recreational opportunities to all the neighborhoods.

The conservation areas have provided for a blending of the natural environment with the human habitat - a balance that can be described as sustainable community. Jubilation provides residents with opportunities and experiences that are not found in most Southwest Florida developments.
