Living Wage Produce Makes its Debut at Food Emporium Immokalee, Florida. April 2002. Jeffrey V. Piering, Director of Produce, at the Food Emporium, Dobbs Ferry, NY, says (POS) Point Of Sales material is extremely important for newly marketed sales such as Living Wage Produce. "It's about knowledge and education," Piering says. "Consumers need to be educated about the benefits of Living Wage Produce currently being grown at the Harvest for Humanity Farm in Immokalee, Florida." He says all of Food Emporium's POS material focuses on a specific brand name, such as Harvest Blueberries. Materials available free to retailers can include channel strips, shelf danglers, price cards, informational cards that discuss benefits, and identification cards for certain varieties. Piering says that consumer brochures such as the Harvest for Humanity Blueberries are usually displayed next to produce displays in the produce departments. "POS material always needs to look clean and neat. We also make sure that brochure racks are kept full with updated information, " Piering says. |
